What does it mean when there's little white spots on your fingernails?

My friend and I have been in an on-going arguement since we were in fifth grade about this. She claims it means you have enough dairy products in you, that is so lame, like it's ever gonna mean that!I say it means that your nails are damaged, that must be right, isn't it?What does it mean when there's little white spots on your fingernails?
An article I read states that it could be due to trauma or a deficiency, but it doesn't list calcium as being one of the possible deficiencies, so technically, you are correct!! Here is a link. You can print it off and show your friend!!

Lack of calcium,so im told,I dont drink a lot of milk myself, but make up for it with the choclate i eat ha,ha and i dont get them, hope i can prevent u and your freind from falling out.
It's probably because they got damaged some way or another, and they do eventually go away.

I also heard it's because someone is thinking of you, but that is obviously not true, I think. :)
It means u bent them
Calcium deficiency is a myth. They are very common and caused as a result of injury to the base of the nail (matrix) where the nail cells are produced. They are not cause for concen and will eventually grow out.

It means your nails have been damaged from trauma.
