Does applying lemon juice to skin will get rid of dark spots and lighten the skin?

I am exposed to hot weather and my skin has dark pigmentation especially face, and hands.Does applying lemon juice to skin will get rid of dark spots and lighten the skin?
Yes, it does.

I've tried it after I had a horrible experience with a self-tanner application.

It also leaves the skin smooth and supple without drying it out. Plus (an added bonus) it helps reduce the size of blackheads on the face!Does applying lemon juice to skin will get rid of dark spots and lighten the skin?
- Thats true it actually works, My skin went all lighter ;] thankyou for asking the question btw! X Report Abuse

You should only apply a light layer because it can overdry skin. Also, mixing it with water helps too.

Dont go out in the sun right after applying because it could be harsher on your skin.

It works very well for blotches, dark elbows or any dark areas.

One more thing, applying products like plain yogurt or milk and rinsing after five minutes will also lighten your skin because of the lactic acid- but do not mix them together with the lemon juice.
yeah there is something in lemon juice that causes pigments to turn lighter colors. it works especially well in hair. however, in order for it to be effective, you need to be out in the sun so that the sun can react with the lemon juice.
Yes, it does but you need to be careful no to apply it and then go out on broad daylight. You apply it at nighttime and wash it off the next day...if you apply it and expose yourself to sunshine you will get brown spots on your skin.... GOOD LUCK!!!
lemon is too acidic and harsh for the skin.. there are safer and effective skin lighteners that can help even out your skin tone.. try dermaline skin whitening cream.
yes also mix it with milk and its lightens and removes dark spots or sun damage.
yeah lemon has citric acid in it, so it might help diminishing dark spots
me as well under my eyes it is brownish hopefully we will get an answer.... maybe we will have to get better face make up to cover... : )
So they say, never tried it though.
