Moisturizers probably won't help. This might be a mild medical problem, not a beauty problem,. This is going to sound weird, but it's possible you have a vitamin deficiency, specifically B vitamins. Take a one a day type vitamin and see if that helps. Also, try eating a little better with more fresh fruits, fruit juices and vegetables. Be sure to add at least one serving of lean meat once a day such as chicken, and drink milk. It could also be a mild skin infection such as eczema or a bacterial problem similar to a yeast infection. Try a mild hydrocortisone creme from the drug store or something like canestin, a mild sulpher-based creme that kills bacterial skin disorders. What is the best way to moisturize very dry spots of skin?
Marcelle Oil Free Moisturizer you can get in a small tube to put in your purse. Just a little dab on your finger tips and you can use it under foundation all over your face if you want. Doesn't clog pores or feel greasy. If you have a Shoppers Drug Mart or London Drugs they carry it.

If you have patches of flaky skin you should exfoliate this first to remove it. You cannot moisturise these patches. Remove them with an exfoliator, then apply your favourite moisturiser to that area.
